Hands-on workshop 

The Container & Cloud-Native Roadshow is a unique hands-on experience for building, deploying, and managing containerized cloud-native applications using industry-standard open source technologies. Focused on educating and enabling attendees based on their role (Ops or Dev), you’ll learn how Red Hat® OpenShift changes the way you run mission-critical applications.

When: Tuesday, 4 February

Where: Athenaeum Intercontinental hotel, Athens

Time: 09:00-16:00 hrs

Who should participate: Enterprise Architects, Application Architects, Developers, DevOps engineers, Operations professionals, infrastructure Architects. Attendees will be split across Dev & Ops tracks. 

*Please note that this is a hands-on workshop, therefore, all attendees should bring their own laptop.

*Two distinct modules will be covered during workshop:

  1. DEBUGGING, MONITORING AND CONTINUOUS DELIVERY: Debug, instrument and monitor a modern microservice application. Deploy continuously using Pipelines.
  2. ADVANCED CLOUD NATIVE WITH EVENT-DRIVEN SERVERLESS: Dynamically respond to events and scale applications using powerful Kubernetes constructs.

Our speakers 

Tassos Anagnostopoulos | Tassos is a Principal Solutions Architect at Uni Systems with extended experience in the analysis and design of enterprise-wide solutions, assisting customers in defining and implementing large-scale systems. In his recent years at Uni Systems he has focused on open-source technologies, with an emphasis on middleware and container platforms, including Red Hat’s Cloud Native Integration and Application Development stacks. Earlier in his professional career, Tassos worked in Chicago as a Software Architect for the eCommerce division of Citigroup Commerce Solutions, where he received the President’s Association Award for his service.  Tassos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras in Greece, and an MS in Electrical, Computers and System Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

Omer Porus | Omer is a Senior Solution Architect at Red Hat. With a proven track record of over a decade in the financial industry, he is now leading the Financial Services in Red Hat IGC. As part of his role, he discovers and analyzes customers business and technical needs, while realizing Red hat’s values: innovation, entrepreneurship, transparency with customers, and transparency wit the open-source community
Before joining Red Hat, Omer was the R&D Director at Israel’s largest bank, where he made significant technological and cultural changes throughout the bank.
Omer expertise includes, among others: Software Development, People Management, Agile, DevOps, Project Management, Customer Engagement, and Software Architecture.

Stelios Bourazanis | Stelios is the supervisor of Continuous Innovation and Emergency Technologies Unit at Uni Systems, delivering professional services for proprietary and open-source (mainly Red Hat) technologies. His experience is primarily in the architecture, design, technical documentation and implementation of IT infrastructure, on premise, on virtualization, on containerization and on cloud environments.
Fascinated by the Kubernetes ecosystem and specialized in deploying Red Hat’s OpenShift as an enterprise platform for cloud-native applications.
He consistently adopts DevOps practices for delivering with speed and efficiency and addicted using automation tools towards migrating applications workloads to the new hybrid world.

Yiannis Tsesmelis |  Yiannis is a Senior Solution Architect at Uni Systems with more than 25 years of experience in IT working on various business environments, technologies and responsibilities is still passionate on software development. He likes getting involved with the latest in IT technology and trends on demanding projects and positions. Since 2016 he is dedicated in projects with open-source technologies and he is certified on many technology and tools as well as Red Hat Certified Specialist.
