DETAILS ABOUT TALKS
————————————
1) Title: Cultivating your Teams by growing and sustaining a Community of Practice
Speaker: Christina Ohanian
Abstract:
The goal of community design is to bring out the community’s own internal direction, character, and energy” – Cultivating Communities of Practice In the course of my work, I’m often asked how organisations can better align their teams and departments while learning and embedding new skills as well as new ways of working. Throughout my career, starting as a software tester, all the way through to my current position as an agile and team coach, I have come to find that Communities of Practice play a vital and pivotal role within the tech and software industry. Communities of Practice are a great way to enable the shaping and building of teams identify, direction and focus, and not only that, they’re also one of the best ways to share knowledge and skills both within your team or department and even across your organisation.
In this talk, I want to dive into real-life examples of how I started my own testing community of Practice and how it changed shaped my team as well as my organisation’s thinking and appreciation for testing and testers.

2) Title: NodeJS and Testing, knowing the dependency of your dependencies dependency
Speaker: Wim Selles
Abstract:
A lot of (QA) people are using JavaScript frameworks nowadays, but not everybody knows and understands how the NodeJS ecosystem works. During this talk I’ll explain:
– How NodeJS works
– Why you should use NVM instead of a pure NodeJS installation
– The package versioning
– The remark about “there’s a package for that”
– How the package-lock.json works
– And many more
