The European Open Source & Free Software Law Event (EOLE) aims to promote the sharing and dissemination of legal knowledge related to free software, as well as the development and promotion of good practices. In light of the COVID-19 public health crisis, the usual one-day conference has been divided into 6 webinars. The sixth session takes place on 21 April at 11.30 – 13.00 CET.
What is the EOLE?
The EOLE aims to promote the sharing and dissemination of legal knowledge related to free and open source software (FOSS) licences, as well as the development and promotion of good practices in the field. The event is organized as a conference cycle and is coordinated every year with a focus on a different subject matter. The upcoming session is focussed on open source programme offices (OSPOs). Although OSPOs cover a wide range of knowledge and activities, this event focusses on legal aspects. What legal skills do OSPO staff need and where can they obtain such training? What legal processes are recommended and how can they best be identified for the organisation? Should there be a European network of OSPOs to share knowledge and best practices? This conference aims to address all of these questions and more and will feature a series of expert speakers.
