In cooperation with the European Parliament, one of the four local editions of the EYE (European Youth Event), will be hosted in Vilnius in May 2024.
The central mission of EYE Vilnius is to bring together young people from all over Europe physically in Vilnius, as well as digitally, to collaboratively explore and experience Europe, and to engage with and empower each other. This event provides young Europeans with the opportunity to connect with EU policy-makers and civil society organisations, but also with each other.
The European Youth Event takes place every two years at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and brings together thousands of young people from all over the EU and the world. During the event, young people share their ideas about the future of Europe and discuss ways to improve it. EYE aims to promote equality, inclusion and sustainability for young people, with a strong commitment to making the event accessible to all.
Although EYE attracts thousands of young people to the European Parliament every year, not everyone can participate. There are several reasons for this: there are more people willing to take part than there are places available, travel to Strasbourg is expensive and not accessible to everyone, not all motivated young people speak English or French, and many others. As a result, local EYEs provide young people in European cities and regions with a unique European Youth Event (EYE) experience and the opportunity to meet other young people and share ideas with experts, activists and decision makers.
