17:10: Talk 1: Flutter as part of an ecosystem

Rarely, there is just an app. It is also the backend, it’s the third party services that are connected, it’s the valuable data and the various channels to seamlessly access this data and it’s the cooperations between various stakeholders. Most apps are part of a wider ecosystem. The more important the ecosystem becomes the more value an open source approach might bring. Andreas talks about what successful open source projects have in common and how we try to apply these aspects to our Flutter MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) app.

17:35: Talk 2: The technical challenges to go public with a Flutter app

Going public can be embarrassing. Particularly when a prototype is being made open source. The code is messy. Keys and sensitive data are all over the place. Architecture is not thought through. However, open source makes your mess transparent and motivates you to clean up, to make it simpler, to make it more generic – so that others understand it, can use it and extend it. Sergey talks about our journey so far with our MaaS app and what our plans are for the future so that the app evolves into a successful part of mobility ecosystems.
