We would like to invite you to a working group dedicated to the specific topic of the Core Public Event Vocabulary on the 5th of May 2022 at 10.00 (CEST).

As you may be aware, in 2018, the SEMIC action gathered needs and use cases from a small set of administrations with the aim of creating a Core Public Event Vocabulary (CPEV). Several workshops took place and as a result a first stable working version of the core vocabulary was published.

As of the time of writing, CPEV is still a working version. In light of this situation, the SEMIC action wanted to determine whether an effort to pursue the official release of CPEV was still relevant to this day and under what conditions.

To that end, a couple of bilateral sessions have been organised in the past weeks with people active in the domain of event modelling and coming from different horizons and countries (IT, SP, FR, GR). The purpose of those sessions was to determine whether CPEV was still up to date and inquire about use cases in the domain of event modelling.

During those meetings, interviewees shared their eagerness to see an official release of CPEV and provided us with several ongoing initiatives in the domain of events which evidenced the need of having a European vocabulary.

In the meantime, the  project team has fed the existing Github repository with the identified gaps in the use cases and requirements in order to — in anticipation of an upcoming workshop — work towards resolutions. You therefore have the possibility to react to these identified gaps but also to submit new use cases — should there be one missing.

Speaking of a workshop, the project team would like to set up an informal working group which will be consulted over the coming months to help build an official release. This working group will be invited to participate in a workshop in early May — the first workshop of a series aiming at releasing CPEV as a recommendation.

Should you therefore be interested to participate in the aforementioned working group, please share your intent via this survey. By doing so, you will be added to our study contact list and be invited to participate in the upcoming workshops.
