The Open Source Observatory (OSOR) is pleased to invite you to an upcoming workshop dedicated to exploring the role of open source artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector.
Public administrations are increasingly exploring how AI can improve public services, support decision-making, and increase efficiency. At the same time, they need solutions that are transparent, reusable, interoperable, and aligned with public values and sovereignty considerations. Open source AI can help make this possible by enabling administrations to understand how AI tools work, adapt them to their own needs, and collaborate across borders and institutions.
Join us on 30 June for an engaging session that will:
- Examine the role of open source AI in the public sector and its relevance for public administrations.
- Present concrete use cases showing how open source AI can support public service delivery.
- Identify the main barriers to adopting and scaling open source AI in government.
- Discuss practical solutions and enabling conditions to help public administrations overcome these challenges.
The conversation will be driven by a panel of practitioners who will share concrete examples from their experience in European open source AI projects:
- Paul van Branteghem – ALIA Project
- André Martins – EuroLLM
- Artūrs Vasiļevskis – TildeOpen LLM
