Geospatial data contain information related to locations on the surface of the Earth. When looking at this geospatial context – the ‘where’ – of a phenomenon, interesting correlations or revelations often emerge.
At data.europa.eu, the official portal for European data, we strive to identify technological trends to continuously develop the facilitation of access to open geospatial data. Since 2021, while monitoring the trends, we’ve been also evaluating their relevance for data.europa.eu on a yearly basis. As part of this annual activity, we organise a dedicated webinar, followed by publication of a short summary report.
This year’s webinar will take place on 8 September, from 10.00 to 11.30 CEST.
We will start with a brainstorming session on current geospatial trends, followed by a deep dive into Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). We will look at potential opportunities arising from this trend, the benefits for data.europa.eu and how the portal could support the use of GeoAI.
After an introductory talk, there will be an online activity to gather participant’s views on:
- What opportunities for data.europa.eu might arise from this trend?
- How can data.europa.eu benefit from GeoAI being used?
- Should data.europa.eu support the use of GeoAI? How?
Register to participate in the webinar.
As a follow-up of the session, we will publish a short report on this year’s recommendations for data.europa.eu. If you’re curious about the conclusions from this activity in 2021 and 2022, you can find the respective reports on the portal.
