Hola good people 🖖,

We hope you are still going strong despite the pandemic.

It’s been 3 whole months since our last event where the one and only Kyle Simpson presented on the “controversial” topic of Monads. That feels like ages ago to us and hopefully to you as well.

So here we go again!

GreeceJS is very proud to be hosting two amazing software engineers. Andreas Nomikos to talk about Engineering ladders – a topic that is becoming very relevent in the tech-driven Greek startup scene – and Sébastien Lorber who is going to explain why we should really care about the stage-2 Ecmascript proposal called Records & Tuples. In short… it’s gonna be awesome!

This wouldn’t be possible of course without our friends over at BestPrice who are sponsoring this event.

Now let’s have a look at the event agenda:

19:00 – 19:40
“Records & Tuples: way more than immutability” – Sébastien Lorber (en)

Records and Tuples is a stage-2 proposal that brings deeply immutable data structures to JavaScript. But immutability is only one part of the story: their “compound primitives” behavior could be the most interesting part, and have a way significant impact. Through different examples, we will see how to use them, and what are the benefits for a ReactJS application.

About the speaker

Sébastien is a ReactJS freelancer.
He became an early adopter of ReactJS in 2014, specialized in techno, and contributed to the growth of its open-source ecosystem. He is passionate about cross-platform development, especially through ReactNative. Lately, he works for Facebook as the lead maintainer of Docusaurus, the Jamstack open-source documentation framework used by Babel, Prettier, Jest, ReactNative, Redux…

No better intro to the topic other than Andreas’ detailed post on Medium titled “Hack the Ladder” a few days ago.
