How to use open data for your research

This workshop, hosted on 19 October from 10.00 to 12.00 CET, will showcase the relevance and importance of open data for academic purposes. Initially tailored to students and academics, you are welcome to join to discover how to use open data to drive knowledge and innovation.

The workshop starts with an introduction on how you can use data.europa.eu to look for datasets of your interest and unleash its potential.  Afterwards, we will learn about three real-life use cases on how to make the best out of open data in the academic field. We will count with the participation of three European universities – KU Leuven Research Repository, University of Amsterdam Linked Open Data Project, and UniOR NLP Research Group from University of Naples L’Orientale– that will present practical examples and ongoing projects that will show how open data can be used to conduct research and drive innovation. It will be followed by a hands-on exercise  where we will learn how to put these learnings into practice, and transform data into solutions. To wrap up, you’ll have the opportunity to share your insights and ask your questions during a Q&A session.
