Recent developments in AI have sparked both enthusiasm and concern about people’s privacy and digital self-determination. The EU has introduced landmark legislation to address these risks, but it remains unclear how this regulation will be implemented and what its practical implications will be for companies and individuals. At the same time, several technology providers are actively innovating with novel AI applications to empower individuals and help organizations meet their legal obligations. The signalling effect of EU legislation and the borderless character of digital technologies suggest a complicated relationship between regulatory and business activities in Europe and abroad.
This online symposium will take stock of the rapidly evolving AI landscape, both in terms of technologies and regulations. Expert speakers will offer perspectives on key aspects of the AI ecosystem, covering ethics, law, business innovation, and human empowerment. The expert presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion on the implications of European regulation and innovation for the rest of the world.
More details will be updated soon. Participation in the symposium is free, but registration is required to save a spot.
