Geospatial data contains information on properties or conditions that are linked to a position on earth. Looking at the geospatial context – the “where” – of a phenomenon will often uncover interesting correlations or revelations. It is an important feature of data.europa.eu to facilitate the discovery and access to open geospatial data sources. In the further development of data.europa.eu, we strive to identify technological trends, i.e. recognisable trends or directions of development that might be worth further activities.

This webinar focuses on emerging trends in the geospatial community. The goal is to discuss trends, standards, or ideas relevant for data.europa.eu.

After a brainstorming session on current trends regarding geospatial topics, the focus will be placed on two recent topics of interest for the future of data.europa.eu:

1. Modernizing INSPIRE… moving towards Open Data

·    INSPIRE Evaluation, INSPIRE Good Practices, OGC APIs
·    Geospatial data and High Value Datasets (HVD) under the Open Data Directive

2. The role of geospatial information for Smart Cities

As a follow up to the webinar, a short report will also be published.

The webinar will take place online on Thursday,  27 October 2022 at 10.00-11.30 CET. A calendar invite will be shared after you submit your response.
