Open Source is more than a technological choice – it is a strategic decision for digital sovereignty, transparency, and innovation. Across Europe, more and more public institutions are establishing Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs) to actively drive this transformation.

The event aims to build on existing activities and strengthen direct exchange within the current network. At the same time, it seeks to lay the foundation for a sustainable European structure – one that aligns with the specific European context, remains open to new partners, and has the potential to attract additional stakeholders.

The State of Schleswig-Holstein as a federal state in germany invites key stakeholders from the European Open Source community to support this idea and to share your own impulses. We believe in learning through direct exchange, based on successful examples and know that we want more of it.

Key topics of the event include:
🔹 The future role of different OSPOs at the European level
🔹 Strengthening synergies between national and EU-wide open source strategies
🔹 Sharing existing formats and ideas – and identifying what’s still missing

What to expect:
An open space for strategic dialogue, honest exchange, and mutual learning – No unnecessary dazzle, no show. As a federal state, we have achieved a lot and want to share our experiences – but also continue learning, together with our European partners.
